QUALIFYING FEDERAL RETURNS
NOVEMBER 2, 2026
IRS Louisiana disaster-relief filing deadline

Dear Valued Clients,

As the 2025 tax filing season comes to a close, we want to remind you that the IRS has postponed certain federal filing and payment deadlines for taxpayers affected by Tropical Storm Arthur in designated Louisiana parishes.

Who may qualify?

Eligible individuals and businesses in Avoyelles, East Feliciana, Lafourche, Pointe Coupee, St. Charles, St. Landry, St. Tammany, Terrebonne and Winn parishes may qualify. The relief generally covers qualifying deadlines falling on or after June 17, 2026, and before November 2, 2026.

Individual returns: 2025 Form 1040 returns with valid filing extensions.
Business returns: Certain partnership (1065), S corporation (1120-S), corporation (1120), payroll and other returns whose applicable due dates fall in the relief period.

IMPORTANT FOR CLIENTS OUTSIDE THE DISASTER AREA

You may still qualify if your tax preparer is in an affected area!

Under IRS rules, clients living outside the designated disaster area may qualify when their preparer is located in the covered area and the disaster prevented the preparer from filing or paying on their behalf.

The preparer's location alone does not automatically extend every client's deadline. Clients outside the area generally must request relief through the IRS disaster hotline at 866-562-5227 and provide the applicable FEMA disaster number. Please contact our office if you think this applies to you.

A note about payments

Not all payment deadlines are extended. For example, 2025 individual income taxes originally due April 15, 2026, were not postponed by this June 2026 disaster relief. Other estimated tax payments within the covered period may qualify.

Please send outstanding documents
